Destination mountain biking
Coler is a mountain biking preserve in Bentonville, Arkansas. We facilitated an early immersion/synthesis phase to establish design tenets for an incredible project team that included architects, landscape architects, trail designers and builders, contractors, and interpreters. Our scope continued with naming, logo, and branding that manifested in trail signage, wayfinding, and interpretation.
Following several rounds of naming and logos, our client selected two directions and three names for final development—Coler, after the last owner of the property; The Preserve, to celebrate the land; and Torrell, a nod to the first homesteader, Oscar Torrell.
Ultimately, the specificity of the site's topography together with the name of the last owner of the property, captured the potential energy of the project.
